Timing of discontinuation of the Metop ASCAT Soil Moisture products currently generated at the EUMETSAT Central Facility is now Q2 2025 (exact date to be announced in due course).

H SAF will update four of their precipitation products (H60B, H61B, H63 and H90). For more details, see the link to the H SAF announcement provided below.

Out-of-plane manoeuvre. Some instrument data will be unavailable or degraded during this period. The exact burn time and instrument affected outage will be announced closer to the day of the manoeuvre. Reduced data quality should be expected for data sensed during this period.

EUMETCast Terrestrial users of the Automatic Multicast Tunneling (AMT) Service may experience brief outages (1–2 minutes) during the maintenance window due to maintenance activity in GEANT infrastructure. Further interruptions cannot be excluded. AMT users are recommended to check their reception. If the outage persists longer than expected, they should force their client to switch relays by updating the AMT Relays text file, as described in the User Guide.

Discontinuation of OSI SAF GOES-East radiative fluxes products (OSI-305-b and OSI-306-b). For more details, see link to the OSI SAF announcement provided below.

GOES-19 to take over as NOAA's operational GOES-East satellite on 4 April 2025 at 15:10 UTC. In preparation for this, EUMETSAT plans to start disseminating GOES-19 data from 09:00 UTC on 4 April, providing users with a short period of parallel dissemination until 15:10 UTC. External Calibration (monitor instrument noise)

Update of the OSSI (Operational Service Status Indicator) and EUMETCast Dailylogs. There is a risk of interruption or delay during the maintenance period.

Release of a new processor version for IASI L2, v6.7.6. This new version addresses recent degradation in MW-IR synergistic products caused by the degradation of specific AMSU channels (Metop-B: channels 3 & 6, Metop-C: channels 4 & 8). This update modifies the PWLR3 algorithm configuration to exclude these degraded channels, ensuring improved product quality. The regional processing is planned to be updated to v6.7.6 in the coming month (this will be announced in due course).

Reduced data quality should be expected for data sensed during this period.

Planned maintenance activity on the EUMETSAT User Portal. Users may experience interruptions when accessing the service during the maintenance period.

Drag Make-Up manoeuvre (DMU). This may cause data to be unavailable or degraded. The exact time will be announced closer to the manoeuvre.

Planned maintenance activity on Data Store and Data Tailor. During the maintenance period, users may experience delays in the updates to the Data Store catalogue.

Data Centre archive maintenance. During this time, catalogue updates and the processing of orders may be delayed. Users are invited to check out the Data Store (https://data.eumetsat.int/)

A GOES-18 ABI solar calibration scan is planned on 31 March 2025. Between 15:10 and 15:15 UTC GOES-18 ABI will operate in continuous Full Disk Mode (mode 4) instead of 10-minute Flex Mode (mode 6). Filenames will change to reflect the mode 4 operations, e.g.: OR_ABI-L1b-RadF-M4C01_G18_s20250901510[SSS]_e20250901515[SSS]_c202509015[mmssSSS]-136002_0.nc. ABI 10-minute Flex Mode (Mode 6) will resume at 15:20 UTC.

Gain Compression

A GOES-16 ABI solar calibration scan is planned on 31 March 2025. Between 11:00 and 11:05 UTC GOES-16 ABI will operate in Continuous Full Disk Mode (mode 4) instead of 10-minute Flex Mode (mode 6). Filenames will change to reflect the mode 4 operations, e.g.: OR_ABI-L1b-RadF-M4C01_G16_s20250901100[SSS]_e20250901105[SSS]_c20250901[mmssSSS]-118900_0.nc. ABI 10-minute Flex Mode (Mode 6) will resume at 11:10 UTC.

No MTG Africa FCI L1c and FCI L2 GII products. FCI RGB images and LI L2 AFA product will be generated and disseminated nominally.

EUMETSAT has activated a third transponder on EUMETCast Europe for the High Volume Service 3 (HVS-3). This transponder is intended for data from MTG-S1, EPS-SG/A1, and other future missions once operational. Currently, Meteosat-12 data are being replicated on HVS-3 as test dissemination and will be available there until the end of June 2025. Users can request access to HVS-3 now to test their reception chain, by contacting our User Helpdesk. For full details, see the link provided below.

During future OLCI Lunar Calibrations for both Sentinel-3A and Sentinel-3B starting on 26/01/2024, a new SRAL calibration sequence will be executed. This will involve a long-duration (~10 mins) CAL1 SAR observation, followed by a CAL2 observation and another long-duration CAL1 SAR observation. This will be executed during the SRAL outage periods associated with the Lunar Calibration manoeuvres, so no additional outage will be introduced.

Starting 14/02/2023 20:35:57 S3A will start performing SRAL external calibrations over a transponder in Leonessa, Italy. To conduct this transponder pass, the on-board Digital Elevation Model (DEM) altitude value must be temporarily updated in RAM, and is reverted immediately after the pass. A short outage immediately before and after the pass will be introduced, and data should be considered degraded as per non-nominal acquisition mode, for a total duration of approx.28 seconds over the transponder location (42.61607° N, 13.03780° E) for all relative orbits number (RON) 270 from cycle 95 (inclusive) onwards

Starting 02/02/2023 10:28:30 S3B will start performing SRAL external calibrations over a corner reflector site in Spain. To conduct this pass, the on-board Digital Elevation Model (DEM) altitude value must be temporarily updated in RAM, and is reverted immediately after the pass. A short outage immediately before and after the pass will be introduced, and data should be considered degraded as per non-nominal acquisition mode, for a total duration of approx.26 seconds over the transponder location (42.052°N, 0.7300° E) for all relative orbits number (RON) 335 - from cycle 75 (inclusive) onwards

Starting 31/01/2023 09:39:49 S3B will start performing SRAL external calibrations over a transponder site in Leonessa. To conduct this transponder pass, the on-board Digital Elevation Model (DEM) altitude value must be temporarily updated in RAM, and is reverted immediately after the pass. A short outage immediately before and after the pass will be introduced, and data should be considered degraded as per non-nominal acquisition mode, for a total duration of approx.27 seconds over the transponder location (42.61607° N, 13.03780° E) for all relative orbits number (RON) 306 - from cycle 75 (inclusive) onwards.
